Heating / Furnace Service & Repair

Pillar's published repair process describes a two-hour arrival window, reminders, text-ahead notice, diagnosis and a quote before approved repair work. Confirm the appointment timing when scheduling.

Overview

Heat you can rely on

In North Idaho's cold-weather months, reliable heating matters. Pillar's published goal is to address most heating issues the same day while on site. That is a goal, not a guarantee: appointment availability, travel, diagnosis and required parts can extend the timing. If a repair needs another visit, ask the office what remains and when the next step can occur.

Pillar's published heating-equipment list includes:

  • Gas, propane & electric furnaces
  • Heat pumps
  • Gas fireplaces / stoves
  • Pellet stoves
  • Boiler systems

When to request service

Symptoms worth diagnosing

Loss of heat

No heat, weak airflow or rooms that no longer reach setpoint

Repeated shutdowns

Repeated cycling, an error code, new noise or a breaker trip

Combustion changes

Ignition trouble, unusual soot or a change in burner operation

Safety first: If you smell or hear gas, leave immediately without operating lights, thermostats, appliance controls, plugs, phones or other electrical switches inside; call 911 and the gas utility from a safe location. If a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds or anyone has headache, dizziness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, chest pain or confusion, move outdoors to fresh air and call 911; do not re-enter until responders say it is safe. For smoke or fire, leave and call 911. Do not bypass furnace, boiler or fireplace safety controls or touch equipment that may be wet and energized.

No-surprises service

Our repair process

  1. Contact us by phone, text, or email β€” our friendly staff is ready to help.
  2. We schedule a visit that suits you, with a 2-hour arrival window.
  3. You get reminders in the days leading up to your appointment.
  4. On service day, we text you that we're on the way β€” with a photo of your technician.
  5. Your tech minimizes disruption: parking on the street, boot covers on your floors.
  6. After diagnosis, you get a clear quote before any repair work begins.
  7. If you approve the work, the technician completes eligible repairs or explains any part order and next visit.

Maintenance

Heating Maintenance & Service

Regular servicing can support equipment life, efficiency and safer operation, but it cannot prevent every failure. Pillar's published maintenance work includes inspections, cleaning and tune-ups β€” checking for leaks and airflow, lubricating moving parts, and calibrating controls. The visit can identify concerns and inform next steps without guaranteeing uninterrupted heat.

Repair or replace?

The technician evaluates the failed component, equipment condition and parts support before recommending repair or replacement. Pillar's official heating page invites customers to request a second opinion before approving any HVAC replacement.

Sources and verification limits

The linked Pillar page supports only the company equipment, service and process statements described beside it. Government safety sources support only the hazard-response topic described beside each link. Symptoms, diagnostic considerations and repair-versus-replacement factors are general educational guidance, not a verified account of every Pillar visit or every equipment model.
