Appliance Installation
Correct appliance installation includes more than placing the unit. Pillar's official appliance page lists installation for washing machines, gas and electric dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators and freezers, ovens, ranges and stoves, microwaves, and water heaters. Eligibility depends on the site, existing connections and regulated trade scope.

What Pillar publishes
Pillar expressly lists installation for washing machines, gas and electric dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators and freezers, ovens, ranges and stoves, microwaves, and water heaters; its About page also mentions complete kitchen suites.
Appointment eligibility depends on the equipment, job-site address, technician availability and regulated trade scope. A submitted request is not a confirmed appointment until Pillar responds.
Common reasons to call
- A retailer or builder delivered an appliance but did not install it
- A replacement unit needs compatible water, drain, gas, electrical or vent connections
- Several kitchen appliances need coordinated installation
- An installed appliance needs leveling or an operating check
What to expect
Prepare for a model-specific installation
Typical installation considerations
Installation requirements depend on the appliance, dimensions, delivery path, existing utility connections and current manufacturer instructions. Pillar must confirm that the requested work is within its eligible scope.
- Confirm appliance type, model, dimensions and existing connections
- Check the requested work against Pillar's licensed service scope
- Install eligible equipment using manufacturer instructions
- Level, test and review basic operation with the customer
Before the visit
- Send the model number and installation manual before scheduling.
- Measure the opening, delivery path and door clearance before the appliance arrives.
- Identify whether old-unit removal, stacking hardware or conversion parts are needed.
Safety comes first
Work outside Pillar's confirmed licensing scope must be completed by the appropriate trade. If gas is smelled or a leak is heard, leave immediately without using a phone, operating switches, unplugging equipment or investigating; call 911 or the gas supplier from a safe location. If a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds, get everyone outside immediately, call 911 from fresh air and do not re-enter until emergency responders say it is safe. If there is smoke or fire, get everyone outside and call 911. If water reaches electrical equipment, do not touch the equipment or enter standing water; isolate power only at a dry, safely accessible main disconnect, otherwise call the utility, emergency services or an electrician.
Confirm installation eligibility
Installation eligibility depends on the appliance and existing connections. The office should review photos and model information before confirming the appointment.
