Information that helps identify a part
Start with the complete model number and serial or production revision. An existing part number or clear photo of the old part can narrow the search, but compatibility still needs to be checked against the equipment record.

Safety comes first
If gas is smelled or a leak is heard, leave immediately without using switches, plugs or phones; call 911 or the gas authority from a safe location. If a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds, get everyone outside and call 911. For smoke or fire, leave and call 911. Do not enter standing water or touch equipment that may be wet and energized; isolate power only at a dry, safely accessible main disconnect. Only after these emergency conditions are excluded should a customer use the manufacturer's disconnection procedure for dry, non-emergency work that the manufacturer expressly identifies as user-serviceable. Gas, refrigerant, high-voltage and combustion repairs require the appropriate trained and licensed professional.
