Air Conditioning Service & Repair

Pillar's published repair process describes a two-hour arrival window, reminders, text-ahead notice, diagnosis and a quote before approved repair work. Confirm the appointment timing when scheduling.

Overview

Cooling, done right

A reliable, efficient cooling system can improve comfort on Kootenai County's warmer days. Pillar diagnoses, repairs and maintains air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits and commercial rooftop units. Completion timing depends on the diagnosis, required parts, equipment access and appointment availability. Air-conditioning performance depends on heat transfer and airflow, so the cause should be identified before repair or replacement is recommended.

When to request service

Symptoms worth diagnosing

Cooling or airflow loss

Warm air, weak airflow or a system that runs without reaching setpoint

Ice, water or cycling

A frozen coil, persistent water near the indoor unit or repeated cycling

Electrical or control changes

New electrical odor, breaker trips, unusual noise or a thermostat error

Safety first: For smoke or fire, leave and call 911. Do not touch cooling equipment or enter standing water if water may contact energized parts. Power should be isolated only from a dry, safely accessible disconnect by someone who can do so without contacting water; otherwise keep away and obtain emergency or utility help. Keep away from sparking or visibly damaged wiring, and do not reset a repeatedly tripping breaker. Do not chip ice from a coil or open sealed refrigerant components.

Maintenance

A/C Maintenance & Service

Pillar's published air-conditioning maintenance includes inspecting and cleaning condenser and evaporator coils, assessing wear, and checking electrical connections. These steps can support performance and identify developing concerns, but no maintenance visit can guarantee uninterrupted cooling or prevent every repair.

Repair or replace?

Airflow, controls, coils, electrical parts and the refrigeration circuit can produce similar symptoms. Diagnosis should identify the cause before parts are ordered or refrigerant is added. Pillar also offers second opinions on replacement recommendations.
